Everything is ready for the Burial of the Remains of 14 Victims of the Genocide

The remains of 14 victims of the genocide committed in Srebrenica in the summer of 1995 are ready for burial at the collective funeral that will be held on July 11 this year at the Srebrenica Memorial Center – Potočari.

The funeral of the coffin with the remains of the victims of the genocide for Potočari will be held tomorrow from the complex of the Public Cemetery of Visoko.

The youngest victim to be buried this year is seventeen-year-old Beriz (Omera) Mujić, born in 1978 in Zvornik. He was killed in July 1995 in the area of ​​Sućeska near Bratunac, and his remains were exhumed in May 2023 in the area of ​​the municipality of Srebrenica. He will be buried next to his brother Hazim, who was buried in Potočari in 2013.

The oldest victim who will be buried is Salić (Ibrahima) Hamed, born in 1927. He was 68 years old when he disappeared in the summer of 1995 in the area of ​​Žepa. His remains were exhumed at the Slap site in Žepa in May 2014.

This year, brothers Efendić, Hasib and Camil will be buried together. They disappeared in the area of ​​the Baljkovica locality in the summer of 1995, and their remains were exhumed from different graves in the Srebrenica area, that is, in the Kula and Potočari localities, in 2011 and 2006. Hasib and Ćamil will find their final peace this year with their third brother, Edhem, who was buried in Potočari in 2007.

Krdžić (Daut) Mehmed, born in 1961;

Omic (Asim) Sabrija, born in 1966;

Šiljković (Ramo) Mušan, born in 1956;

Harbaš (Ragib) Sakib, born in 1975;

Mujić (Omer) Beriz, born in 1978;

Jašarević (Ismet) Ahmet, born in 1971;

Salihović (Mehmed) Nevres, born in 1970;

Salkić (Muharem) Ibrahim, 1935;

Bašić (Adem) Midhat, born in 1973;

Mustafić (Kadrija) Hajdin, born in 1959;

Mandžić (Arif) Latif, born in 1964;

Salić (Ibrahim) Hamed, born in 1927.

In accordance with the Program and protocol of the 29th anniversary of the Bosniaks of the “UN Safe Zone” Srebrenica, the sad column with the coffins of the victims of the genocide will leave Visoko tomorrow at 10 am.

After leaving Visoko, the motorcade will first stop in Ilijaš at 10:45 a.m., in order for citizens to pay their respects to the victims. Then the motorcade will make a short stop in Vogošća at 11:15, and the arrival and stop in front of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina is planned for 12:00.

The sad column will stop briefly at the Monument to the Murdered Children of Sarajevo at 12:10 p.m., in front of the Markale market at 12:20 p.m., as well as in front of the City Mosque in Srebrenica, where the column is scheduled to arrive at 4 p.m.

The reception of the coffins in Potočari is planned for 16:30, Klix.ba reports.
