Azerbaijan president blackmailing Armenia with constitution
Peace can be reached in case of Armenia making amendments to its constitution and other normative legal documents, president of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said, APA reports.
There is already de-facto peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and a peaceful situation has been prevailing on the border of the two countries for several months, Aliyev said, receiving Martin Chungong, the current Secretary General of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
Aliyev said that for the logical end of that process, it is necessary to "sign a peace agreement and put an end to Armenia's territorial ambitions towards Azerbaijan."
To note, however, ambitions for almost the entire territory of Armenia are maintained in the legislation of Azerbaijan.
Also, Aliyev threatened that if the rights of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) are not restored, Azerbaijan's participation in the Council of Europe and the European Court of Human Rights will be reviewed.
