The actions of Azerbaijani government pose a threat of genocide for the Armenians of the region

Genocide scholars and participating scientists of the 4th Global Forum "Against the Crime of Genocide" issued a joint statement condemning the actions over Lachin Corridor, ARMENPRESS was informed from the statement issued by the scholars.

"We, the undersigned international genocide studies scholars and educators, condemn the actions of the Azerbaijani government to create a humanitarian crisis for Nagorno-Karabakh by closing the Goris-Stepanakert highway on December 12, 2022 and stopping the gas supply to the Armenian population of Artsakh. As scholars studying the genocide process, we believe that the actions of the Azerbaijani government pose a threat of genocide to Armenians in the region. We call on international organizations and governments to ensure the free entry of people and goods to Nagorno Karabakh. These concerns are raised in the context of our participation in the International Global Forum against the Crime of Genocide, during which we got to know about these acts of aggression against the civilian population of Nagorno-Karabakh," the statement said.
